Painters are skilled individuals who work on buildings, walls, vehicles, airplanes, roads and rigs. They are hired to beautify and paint buildings and walls, so only a person with a sense of good color combination, knowledge of complementary colors, and creativity can perform a commendable job of being a painter. He should be good at communicating ideas because the property owners will need to discuss at length the uses and benefits of different kinds of paint. He has the important job of maintaining the building, keeping it clean, varnishing and painting and completing the task with accuracy and honesty. Since the painter works as a team, he has to be good at interpersonal communication skills. As a team, he must be able to prepare estimates of when the job will be completed and how much time it will take. The painter should be physically strong to handle equipments (ladders and scaffolding) and tools. He may have to transport them from one part of the site to another, so a weakling will not be able to handle it.
The main responsibility of a painter is to paint, He has to drape protective clothing around the area he is to paint and protect the furniture and other equipments in the property. Before painting the property, it is the duty of the painter to check for any faults, repairs and leaks and then advise the property owner. He must do all the necessary pre-work (smoothing the surface with sandpaper, brushes and steel wool) before he starts with the real paint job.
