Through the ages, Karnataka has housed the ancient Vijayanagara Kingdom (that at its height was amongst the richest in the world), the artful Hoysalas, the daredevil kings of Mysore, and, currently, India's technology and IT capital - Bangalore.
The carnatic people have historically been excellent farmers, dedicated warriors, innovative engineers, and skilled artists. It seems only natural that Bangalore, India's "Garden City" and "Silicon Valley of the East", finds itself the state's capital. As one of Indias most livable, diverse, and exciting metropolises, Bangalore promises an excellent working atmosphere coupled with infinite opportunities to relax and get your mind off the daily grind.
There is much more to Karnataka than just Bangalore though. The nearby Palace in Mysore for instance, the original seat of power in the state. The mesmerising temple architectures of Belur and Halebid. Further to the west, the towns near Mangalore and all along the coast are famous for their temples, beaches and lifestyle. The wild regions of Coorg and Chikmagalur, half a day’s drive away from the city, are well known for their coffee plantations and untouched natural beauty. Further up north, Hampi, Badami, Aihole and Bidar offer an intimate peek into the region’s glorious past.
